Medical Officers - Toowoomba

The Cough, Asthma and Airways Research Group (CAARG) within the Queensland University of Technology (QUT)  is conducting a NHMRC funded, multi-centre clinical trial of a vaccine given in pregnancy with respiratory illnesses in infants in the first 12 months of life as the primary outcome.

The study will be enrolling women whose infants will be identified as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, Maori and/or Pacific Islander. We are seeking casual medical officers in the Toowoomba region to assist with clinical visits for the study.

This position will primarily be required to undertake the baseline visit and medical assessments with pregnant women and the 6 and 12 month infant clinical assessments in the study according to ICH-GCP guidelines.  A clinical research nurse/midwife will accompany the Study Doctor at all clinical visits.

Medical officers with an interest in obstetrics and paediatrics would be highly desirable. The person will be employed by QUT at a rate of approximately $85 per hour.
