The COVID-19 vaccination program is well underway in the Darling Downs and West Moreton region. Everyone 5 years and over can now book an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine. Your local HealthPathways portal provides the latest information about the clinical aspects of COVID-19 vaccination, including advice, delivery, and follow‑up. GPs are encouraged to check they have access to HealthPathways.

Vaccination hubs are open across the region accepting walk-ins requesting their first, second or booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Community Pharmacies
Community pharmacies are also participating in the COVID-19 vaccine rollout and the concessional RAT program.
Vaccinations for homebound people
There is some limited capacity to provide vaccinations in the home for people with a significant disability who are unable to leave their homes. If you are considering a patient for an in-home vaccination, please send the following details to practicesupport@ddwmphn.com.au
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander vaccinations
Local Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) are available to provide culturally appropriate COVID-19 vaccinations.

To improve access and uptake of vaccinations, general practices are also encouraged to provide a culturally safe environment when providing the vaccine.

The Australian Department of Health has a dedicated web page that provide further information and resources to better inform Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples about the COVID-19 vaccine.
Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs)
The Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN is working alongside residential aged care facilities to manage and reduce infection rates in facilities.
All RACFs in the Darling Downs and West Moreton were supported by the PHN to provide vaccinations for all residents and staff. The PHN continues to actively support all RACFs in the region to ensure vaccinations are available.
