Evening and Weekend On Call Roster for Sexual Assault Examiners - Expressions of Interest

Evening and Weekend On Call Roster for Sexual Assault Examiners - Expressions of Interest

Location: Darling Downs Health

The Department of Public Medicine - Kobi House is seeking expressions of interest from medical officers interested in joining the forensic examiner roster, that is, to complete forensic examinations for people disclosing sexual assault.

This entails making oneself available to paid on call at your discretion for weeknight evenings, from 1730h to 0800h the following morning, and from 0800h to 0800h the following day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. The roster is completed four-weekly, and roster allocations are not made without declared availability on behalf of the examining staff (i.e. availability is not assumed). Roster availability is requested by email the week before the next roster is compiled. Recalls are relatively infrequent compared to other on call rosters. Recalls are of course also paid.

This may be especially suitable for medical officers seeking to increase their skills in forensic medicine, gynaecology and paediatric trainees, emergency medicine trainees, and those seeking to support people disclosing sexual assault.

Training is available, both through the Clinical Forensic Medicine Unit (CFMU) and internally, with support available on request. If you are interested, please call P: 07 4616 6446, or E: matt.ruhl@health.qld.gov.au to discuss.
