About the role
Team Leader – Social Workers at Youth Insearch play an integral role in our ability to support at risk young people through our peer-developed programs. Team Leader - Social Workers provide management oversight to our integrated ‘youth hub’ of Social Workers, Youth Workers and Peer Worker Trainees across the region.

This role will champion as a practice and operational lead for the region and will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of Youth Insearch services across the Queensland South regions, acting as the first point of call for your teams. Working closely and reporting into the Regional Manager – Queensland, you will have operational oversight of the regions KPIs, ensuring that young people in the region have the best experience, and the staff in the region provided with the opportunity to grow and thrive.

Key selection requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following attributes as a minimum:

Eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
5+ years’ experience working with vulnerable populations within a case management lens
Demonstratable supervisory experience preferably in the child, youth and family sector
Extensive knowledge of the challenges and issues experienced by young people (12-25) affected by trauma, and the interventions required including but not limited to mandatory reporting, risk assessments etc…
Strong communication skills with experience developing community networks and establish/increase community engagement
Sound risk assessment skills including but not limited to suicide risk, psychological distress and mandatory reporting
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
Ability to work autonomously exercising advanced practitioner level skills
Strong written skills and experience using case record management systems
Unrestricted and valid Queensland driver’s license

Essential requirements (please note, employment cannot commence until these have been verified):

Qualifications – BA or Masters of Social Work
Working with Children Check (Bluecard) for Employment Purposes (Qld)
National Police Record Check
Full vaccination against COVID-19
Current First Aid Certificate
Australian working rights
