Jaydon Adams Memorial Foundation Acknowledgement and Appreciation Award

September 04, 2018

The Jaydon Adams Memorial Foundation supports Men's Health initiatives in the Darling Downs region in memory of Jaydon Adams. Jaydon was a proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander man, passionate about Aboriginal culture and the need to Close the Gap, who sadly passed away in 2013.

Jaydon's passion for his people and dedication to his culture was reflected through his involvement with Indigenous Health and his many youth leadership roles as well as his work with Goolburri Health Advancement.

To celebrate Ochre Day, an important Aboriginal male health initiative to help raise awareness of Aboriginal male health and social and emotional wellbeing, the Foundation hosted the Jaydon Adams Foundation - Regional Male Health Ochre Conference.

Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN were proud supporters of this initiative in partnership with Goolburri Health Advancement and the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO).

Liz Wilson and Maurice Woodley, from our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health team, attended the Conference Dinner, and were proud to receive an Acknowledgement and Appreciation Award acknowledging PHN’s support.

Pictured below is Marlena Bishopp (also part of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team) and Maurice Woodley with the award.
