Access for All – Disability awareness course for mainstream health providers

Funded by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), CheckUP Australia, in partnership with people with disability and health providers, have developed Access for All, a disability awareness course designed to support healthcare providers, organisations, and practices to improve accessibility and inclusivity for people with disability. The objective of Access for All is to create awareness of the barriers people with disability experience when accessing mainstream health care.

The Access for All - Disability Awareness Training and the accompanying AfA Resources will assist in building your awareness of the barriers people with disability experience when accessing health care, and provide you with practical ways to improve the accessibility of your own clinical service to people with disability. ‘Access for All’ is funded by the NDIA.
Access for All was developed in collaboration and partnership with consumers and health professionals with lived experience of disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers with lived experience of disability, mainstream health professionals, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers, medical educators and Disability Advocacy Organisations.
