ACRRM Drug and Alcohol Addiction Education Program 2020

September 14, 2020

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine’s (ACRRM) Drug and Alcohol Addiction Education (DAAE) Program includes a suite of incentivised activities to strengthen the capacity of General Practitioners to address drug and alcohol addiction in their communities. These training activities include workshops (face-to-face and online), an online learning course and webinars with subject matter experts, supported by resources for General Practitioners to use in their practice.

Each activity attracts individual incentive payments for eligible ACRRM members, and can be done separately; however, it is strongly recommended that you to complete the full suite of activities. Visit the ACRRM website for more information about the DAAE program and to register.

Virtual workshops

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine’s (ACRRM) Drug and Alcohol Addiction Education (DAAE) virtual workshops are open for registration. These highly interactive workshops are delivered monthly and provide the tools and techniques for GPs to address addiction issues and engage with their local AOD resources and referral pathways. Participants have the opportunity to analyse case studies and contextualise them to the unique needs of their community.

Eligible ACRRM members are entitled to incentive grant payments of $2,700 on completion of the workshop. Visit the ACRRM website for more information and to register.

Online course

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine’s (ACRRM) Drug and Alcohol Addiction Education (DAAE) online learning course, ‘Alcohol and Other Drugs - Driving Change in Communities' is aimed at increasing your knowledge and understanding of the various outcomes of substance use.
