Bushfire Support for Community
June 30, 2020
Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN is continuing work to support communities affected by bushfires in our region.
Counselling sessions are available to all individuals, families and emergency service workers affected by bushfires with no out of pocket expenses.
- Up to 10 therapy sessions can be accessed.
- No Mental Health Treatment Plan or GP referral required.
- You can access the sessions via telehealth if you live in a rural or remote area or if you are not able to access services face to face.
The sessions can support individuals with coping strategies, advice on distress interventions, social supports, counselling and family based psychological interventions.
The PHN has four (4) funded providers in the region to provide counselling support either face to face or via telehealth (phone or video consultation). You can ring the providers directly to talk about making an appointment.
