'Call to Arms' Childhood Immunisation Campaign
May 20, 2019
Queensland Health has launched its 'Call to Arms' campaign which is the second phase of the childhood immunisation - influenza campaign.
Campaign resources are available for GPs, councils, immunisation service providers, childcare centres and anyone who would like to promote the campaign messages.
The campaign is part of the overall Vaccination Matters campaign family, encouraging parents to get their children aged six months to less than five years vaccinated against the flu. The campaign aims to increase awareness that:
- The flu is dangerous for children and is the leading cause of hospitalisations for children under five.
- the vaccine is safe, free*; and
- annual vaccination is the best form of protection against the flu.
The campaign includes print, out of home, digital and social media and issues a call to arms for parents to protect their children this flu season by booking an appointment with their GP to immunise them with an annual flu vaccine.
