Empowering practice nurses to deliver improved diabetes care in general practice
August 30, 2019
Our Primary Care Engagement team recently teamed up with AH Diabetes to provide education to practice nurses to improve the management of diabetes in general practice.
Over the two workshops, 80 practice nurses were provided with practical information and guidance for supporting their general practice to deliver better care to patients, including appropriate care plans, MBS item numbers, and podiatry and foot care assessments.
Attendees walked away with increased knowledge of diabetes, diagnosis, management techniques to improve the same consistency of care and treatments across the region.
The event also provided the opportunity to provide insight into useful resources, such as diabeteshub.com.au
