Did you know information on COVID vaccine can be accessed in My Health Record?
Covid-19 vaccination status to be available through My Health Record.
The Australian Digital Health Agency has recently upgraded the My Health Record system to support the Australian Government’s COVID-19 vaccination program. This includes:
- an on-screen alert for the second COVID-19 vaccination due date (if the first vaccination has been given);
- immunisation history from the AIR and the individual’s record (currently available within shared health summaries and event summaries) that can be filtered by source;
- this information is available in the immunisation view of the My Health Record National Provider Portal.
For those accessing the immunisation view through a clinical information system (such as Best Practice, MedicalDirector, Genie or Zedmed) the information will still be available in the Medicare Overview.
COVID-19 vaccination due and overdue dates
The Health Record Overview and Immunisation Record view show whether a second COVID-19 vaccination is due or overdue.
The second COVID-19 vaccination due date is calculated from the date of the first vaccine, as recorded in AIR, and the maximum date interval recommended by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) until the second vaccine. Once this date has passed, the second vaccine is considered overdue.

Active Ingredient Prescribing on computer-generated prescriptions became mandatory for prescribers from 1 February 2021. Most prescribing software has been updated to reflect the new requirement. There is also information and resources for prescribers available from the Safety Commission, including medicines that are excluded from the requirements and medicines for which prescribers are recommended to consider including a brand.
