Early Childhood Education

September 28, 2021

An Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) is a program the department provides to support children from birth to 5 years with significant educational support needs arising from diagnosed or suspected disability. ECDPs aim to support children’s early learning and help develop valuable skills children need to be successful learners now and as they transition into school.

To be eligible to attend the child requires a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis for the following:

  • Visual impairment
  • Hearing impairment
  • Physical impairment
  • Intellectual disability
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • Speech Language; and/or
  • Global Developmental Delay

Parents and carers are to contact schools for enrolment advice.

For the Lockyer Valley ECDPs are available at:

  • Laidley District State School
  • Gatton State School; and
  • Hatton Vale State School
