New vaccination clinics for West Moreton region
February 21, 2022
West Moreton residents can get their COVID-19 vaccination or booster at West Moreton Health pop-up clinics in Springfield, Laidley, Esk, Boonah, as well as the main Ipswich CBD Community Vaccination Clinic.
West Moreton Health COVID-19 Executive Lead Matthew Tallis said clinics in rural areas offered a great opportunity for families to easily access their vaccination or booster for eligible people 5 years and older.
“It is important that children who are now back to school have the best possible protection against COVID-19,” Mr Tallis said.
“All of our clinics offer childhood vaccination, first and second doses for residents 12 years and over, and boosters for eligible people 16 years and over who received their second dose at least three months ago.”
Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Mr Tallis said there had been a reduction of people visiting West Moreton Health clinics to receive their vaccination in the past few weeks.
“This is the situation across the state and we would like to see these numbers increase so ensure we have the best protection against COVID-19 in all eligible age groups,” he said.
“Vaccinations help to keep everyone in the family out of hospital.”
Along with the clinics at Springfield, Laidley, Esk, Boonah and Ipswich, West Moreton Health is holding targeted clinics for school students and staff in the region in areas of low vaccination rates or for those who may have difficulty accessing a clinic.
“Our ability to rapidly stand-up additional vaccination clinics across the region is thanks to the support of health partners, schools and community groups who work alongside our incredible vaccination team,” he said.
Bookings are no longer needed at West Moreton Health vaccination clinics, however the clinic hotline on 3413 7102 is available for people who would prefer to call and book ahead.
Bookings remain available through the Queensland Health website.
