PHN to welcome new CEO

The Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Lucille Chalmers as the incoming CEO of the PHN.
Lucille was selected by the Board after an extensive executive recruitment process and will commence with the organisation on 10 January 2022.
Currently the Deputy CEO at Brisbane South PHN, Lucille has a passion for improving community health and wellbeing and will join the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN with a wealth of experience in the design, delivery and commissioning of health and human services in Australia and the United Kingdom.
PHN Board Chair Dr Tony Bayliss said the Board was delighted to appoint Lucille as Chief Executive Officer with her extensive experience in primary healthcare.
“We were incredibly impressed with the high calibre of candidates that applied for the role,” Dr Bayliss said.
“Lucille stood out due to her in depth knowledge of the primary health sector, understanding of the commissioning landscape and her ability to build sustainable relationships and local partnerships.
“We look forward to welcoming Lucille in January.”
Prior to working with Brisbane South PHN, Lucille has held senior roles with large not for profit and government agencies and has significant experience in leading major growth initiatives, and designing new service delivery and capability building programs.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN to continue improving health outcomes for people living in the region and I look forward to building on the great work done by outgoing CEO, Merrilyn Strohfeldt,” Ms Chalmers said.
Lucille will take over the reins from current CEO Merrilyn Strohfeldt who retires in December 2021 following her four-year tenure with the organisation.
The Board of Directors look forward to welcoming Lucille’s expertise and knowledge to the PHN and continuing to work with stakeholders and the community to improve primary health care.
