QScript is now available
September 28, 2021
QScript is now enabled and prescribers and pharmacists should be able to access the QScript system now. The regulations supporting Medicines and Poisons Act 2019 and Therapeutic Goods Act 2019 were approved to commence on 27 September 2021.
QScript is Queensland’s read-only, real-time prescription monitoring system that notifies health practitioners to review a patient’s monitored medicine prescription history at the point of care. QScript is a clinical tool that provides information to prescribers and dispensers when making decisions about prescribing or dispensing a monitored medicine.
Getting ready for QScript
To prepare health practitioners for the launch of QScript later in 2021, registration is now open the following professions:
- medical practitioners
- nurse practitioners
- endorsed midwives
- podiatric surgeons and endorsed podiatrists
Connecting to Prescription Exchange Service
In preparation for QScript and the implementation of the Medicines and Poisons Act 2019, pharmacies and medical clinics that dispense any monitored medicines referred to in the legislation are encouraged to connect to a Prescription Exchange Service (PES).
Connecting your dispensing software to a PES allows the upload of prescribing and dispensing data into the system, giving more complete patient information and a better user experience of the system once it is available.
To connect to a PES, please contact your software vendor for more information or contact a PES provider on the details below:
