Rural Doctors Upskilling Program

The Department of Health is inviting applications for Round 3 of the Rural Doctors Upskilling Program (RDUP).

The RDUP supports the development and maintenance of an appropriately skilled and distributed medical practitioner workforce to meet the primary care needs of Queensland’s regional, rural and remote communities.

RDUP funding will provide greater access to training posts within Queensland public hospitals to enable opportunities for:

  • General Practitioners and Rural Generalists with advanced skills to undertake training to maintain their advanced skills;
  • General Practitioners and Rural Generalists to undertake training to maintain their special interest skills;
  • General Practitioners or Rural Generalists who need to acquire a special interest skill to serve their regional, rural and remote communities, to undertake training to acquire this special interest skill.
