Priority Area – Psychological therapies for rural and remote, under-serviced and/or hard to reach groups.
The targeted demographic of this activity focuses on vulnerable cohorts including rural communities, children, people with a disability (dual diagnosis), perinatal women, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and refugee groups, and people at risk of homelessness.
This activity makes available psychological therapies for people represented in these cohorts who would otherwise not be eligible for MBS or other funded options and will provide integrated commissioned services with other intervention levels. These will be coordinated within a Stepped Care Approach. Clinical expertise and advice for primary mental health providers and general practice to maximise their business capability and continuity of care in the region will also be provided.
