Escape the Vape – Supporting young people to quit vapes

This presentation will focus on clinical engagement supporting adolescents quit vapes, including assessment and management of nicotine dependence using the 5As brief intervention framework.

Objectives:

• Increase understanding of what e-cigarettes are
• Become familiar with clinical tools to screen and assess for nicotine dependence
• Supporting adolescents and young people to quit the vapes

Dr Bronwyn Milne is a Paediatrician, Addiction Medicine Specialist and Staff Specialist in Adolescent Medicine at the Sydney children’s Hospital Network

Mary Wahhab works as the clinical Nurse Consultant for CICADA Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Service. She has worked in the AOD sector for over 20 years in adult services and in various clinical settings
