GP Advanced Life Support Training

A one-day course for GPs aimed at providing skills and knowledge to manage the patient in an immediate period of crisis.

About this Event

Training is available on Saturday 15 May or Sunday 16 May.

The training covers:

  • Recognition, assessment and management of the critically ill patient using a structured ABCDE approach (aiming to prevent cardiac arrest)
  • Airway management skills
  • Basic Life Support
  • Defibrillation skills (Manual and/or AED modes)
  • Cardiac arrest management using the ARC ALS Algorithm
  • Work as an effective team member in a cardiac arrest

Candidates will receive a manual at least two weeks prior to the course to commence preparation for the face-to-face component.

Cost: $100 deposit which will be refunded on training completion.

This course is facilitated by Rural Medical Education Australia.
