Safe & Together™ Model CORE Training

DVAC's nextSafe & Together™ Model CORE Training will be held at Plainlands over four days 11-12 November and 18-9 November 2019.

Safe & Together™ Model CORE Training consists of 22 educational hours of lecture, group exercises, discussion, video, the CORE Training provides participants with an improved understanding of:

  • Assessing perpetrators’ behaviour patterns and their impact on child and family functioning
  • Partnering with adult survivors of domestic violence
  • Interventions with perpetrators

A 4-day training program by Certified Safe & Together Trainers, which includes hands-on practice and modelling of the following key skills:

  • Videos modelling interviewing perpetrators, survivors and children
  • Multiple Pathways to Harm & Mapping perpetrators’ patterns — two methods for assessing the impact of a domestic violence perpetrator on child and family functioning
  • Practicing comprehensive assessment of adult survivors’ strengths
  • Practicing domestic violence-informed documentation
  • Case planning activities to learn how to develop plans to keep children and families safer
