Psychological Therapies

Provided by Family Services Australia

Service offerings will include:

Individual psychological therapies: delivered face-to-face, with option for telehealth services for consumers preferring this mode of delivery. Psychological therapies will be evidence-based, drawing on skillset of the identified workforce, but may include using CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and systemic therapies. The expected episode of care will be up to three months in duration, or ten service contacts (excluding intake contact) being delivered within this episode. However, in some cases additional services may be required which will be raised on a case-by-case basis with the DDWMPHN contact.

Group therapies (where there is identified need and demand): as a form of demand management, and based on community need or demand, group therapies may be offered. Group therapies may include psychoeducational groups; communication training; parent education; and behavioural interventions. Group programs will be based on a three-month episode of care, with no more than ten service contacts provided unless otherwise indicated and discussed with the PHN contact.

This service is available to people aged 14 years and older in the Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Toowoomba LGAs.
