Workforce prioritisation project
We are part of a Queensland PHN Consortium selected by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care (The Department) to deliver the Australian General Practice Training Workforce Planning and Prioritisation (GP WPP) program in Queensland.
To support this transition to college-led training, Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN is part of a successful Queensland consortium to undertake this work within our region.
The purpose of this project is to provide independent advice on planning and prioritisation of GP training placements (at the GP catchment level) to meet current and future GP workforce needs.
It will also provide advice on GP training capacity and pathways to support and encourage registrars to establish a home in a region, settle there and complete training within that region.
