Key Medication Management Issues in Aged Care

This webinar will explore three (3) of the most important medication related topics for Aged Care Services & their clients - Psychotropic Medications, Medication & Falls and Antimicrobial Stewardship.

Issues around medication management are the highest cause for complaints to the Aged Care Safety and Quality Commission. (1) The area that received the second greatest number of complaints is falls management. The Accreditation standards specifically focus on the overuse of psychotropic medications and the use of antimicrobials. These groups of medication are being overused and used inappropriately. Increased understanding of how medications affect consumer outcomes, whilst working in a collaborative environment, will be discussed in detail.
