Welcome to the Scenic Rim!

A thriving rural region nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and surrounded by World Heritage-listed national parks. Covering 4,254 square kilometres and home to more than 40,000 residents, the region is conveniently located just one hour south of Brisbane and one hour inland from the Gold Coast. 

The Scenic Rim offers an exceptional quality of life, combining the benefits of a relaxed rural lifestyle with access to a wide range of community facilities and services, including parks and playgrounds, sporting grounds, aquatic centres, libraries, community halls and cultural venues. With welcoming towns and villages offering a range of local services, schools, shopping precincts, cafes, and community organisations that support residents at every stage of life. 

The region is serviced by a network of public hospitals, general practices, allied health providers, mental health services, disability support organisations and community care providers. Major health facilities include Beaudesert Hospital and Boonah Health Service, complemented by medical centres located throughout the region's towns and villages.

While wineries, farm-gate experiences, art galleries, nature-based offerings, and cultural attractions support a thriving tourism industry and further contribute to the Scenic Rim's distinctive character and appeal.

Scenic Rim Eat Local Month

You can also experience Australia's most authentic paddock-to-plate food and farming festival - Eat Local Month. Held in June each year the festival brings together the region’s farmers, producers, winemakers, distillers, and local venues to showcase Scenic Rim’s award-winning local produce, rich farming heritage, and paddock-to-plate experiences.

Looking ahead, the Scenic Rim is expected to experience significant population growth.
