Our PHN is committed to working with general practice to enable the delivery of best practice outcomes and experiences for patients through continuous quality improvement and data driven activities.
Quality improvement is a system that can be used to regularly review and refine processes in order to improve them, which will in turn impact positively on the care of and health outcomes for your patients.
Practice Incentives Program
The Practice Incentives Program (PIP) aims to support general practice activities which include continual improvements, quality care, enhanced capacity, and improved access and health outcomes for patients.
Medicare administers the PIP on behalf of the Department of Health. Accreditation is a requirement to be eligible for the Australian Government Practice Incentives Program (PIP).
In addition to the Practice Incentives Program (PIP), the Department of Health introduced the PIP Quality Improvement (QI) Incentive on 1 August 2019.
The PIP QI Incentive is a payment to general practices that participate in quality improvement activities in partnership with our PHN to improve patient outcomes and deliver best practice care.
What do you need to do?
- To participate in the PIP QI Incentive, practices need to register via HPOS. If you haven't done this already, you can now do this by visiting the HPOS website.
- Once registered, you will need to share your PIP identifier with our PHN. If you haven't let our PHN know your PIP identifier, please email this through to firstname.lastname@example.org
