A global conversation: supporting the wellbeing of young people living with type 2 diabetes

Join international presenters Professor Brandy Wicklow, a Paediatric Endocrinologist and Clinician Researcher from The Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba and Dr Joanna McLintock, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Te Whatu Ora, New Zealand with over 20 years’ experience in diabetes and mental health care.

This webinar brings together international perspectives on how wellbeing and mental health can be recognised, prioritised and supported as an integral part of youth diabetes care. Presenters will share their experiences, approaches and practical strategies for embedding psychosocial care into everyday diabetes management, offering insights into what works across different healthcare settings. The session will explore the common challenges faced by young people living with diabetes, as well as the opportunities to strengthen support in ways that are responsive to their individual needs and contexts.
