National Syphilis webinar for UCC and ED settings
Syphilis rates are rising across Australia, with the situation declared a Communicable Disease Incident of National Significance. Urgent Care clinic and emergency departments are critical points for detection, often seeing priority populations and people with limited access to primary care. This panel discussion will explore practical insights and approaches to syphilis management in urgent and emergency care settings.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this course and its components, participants will be able to:
-Discuss current epidemiology of syphilis and implications for opportunistic screening for syphilis in urgent care clinics and emergency departments.
-Examine when to test, what to order, interpreting results and referral pathways for syphilis
-Examine practical application and insights via a panel discussion and consider how these can apply to urgent and emergency settings
