The Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN invites allied health professionals to join us in Toowoomba for a networking and informative session designed to support, connect, and strengthen our region’s allied health workforce.
This event will provide an opportunity for allied health professionals to network with peers, gain insights into key developments impacting the sector, and hear from expert speakers discussing important topics, including:
- The Primary Care 10-Year Plan and its implications for allied health.
- Medicare Reform and what it means for the future of primary care.
- The role of multidisciplinary teams in general practice and how integrated models of care can strengthen collaboration between primary care and allied health professionals.
- Digital Health in Allied Health Practice.

Peter Wallace
Acting Executive Director, Primary Care and Integration – DDWMPHN | Physiotherapist
Strengthening Primary Care Through Allied Health- Peter will explore how the Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan and MyMedicare reforms are shaping the future of primary care and what these changes mean for allied health professionals. Drawing on his experience as both a physiotherapist and a Director of Primary Care, Peter will discuss the growing role of allied health within integrated, team-based models of care and the opportunities these reforms present for the future of primary healthcare.
Michelle Cui
Digital Health Engagement Officer – DDWMPHN
Digital Health in Everyday Allied Health Practice- Michelle will explore how digital health tools like My Health Record and secure messaging can enable timely information sharing across multidisciplinary teams and improve care coordination for consumers. Combining her background in dietetics with her role in digital health, Michelle will demonstrate how allied health professionals can access and use these tools to support informed decision making and continuity of care in everyday practice.

APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist | Practice Principal, South Burnett Physiotherapy
Working Better Together: Allied Health in MDTs. Drawing on his experience as an Exercise Physiotherapist working within an Osteoarthritis Screening Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Program in South Burnett, Jordan will provide an allied health perspective on multidisciplinary care in general practice. He will discuss the benefits of collaborating alongside GPs in a coordinated model of care, highlighting how team-based care benefits allied health professionals, patients and general practice, and the opportunities MDT models create for delivering integrated care in rural and regional communities.
