A year of growth for GPs in a Pod
September 03, 2026
Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN’s clinical podcast, GPs in a Pod, is continuing to grow as a valuable resource for GPs and primary care professionals.
The project was developed as a collaboration between the PHN’s communications team and West Moreton General Practice Liaison Officer (GPLO) Dr Tanusha Ramaloo as alternative communications channel for reaching our region’s busy GPs, fostering further education and clinical discussions.
Since its inception in April 2024, the podcast has continued to build, with over 7,000 streams, over 360 followers, and five-star reviews after more than 60 episodes.
The episodes, which are available on the PHN website and all major streaming platforms, are hosted by the PHN’s West Moreton GPLO, Dr Tanusha Ramaloo, and Darling Downs GPLO, Dr Jo Pappas.
GPs in a Pod host and West Moreton GPLO, Dr Tanusha Ramaloo, said, “We’re really proud of how far the show has come and the growing audience we’ve built since we first launched.”
“I’ve heard really positive feedback from listeners about the practical learning and insights they’re gaining from experts and local providers across our region,” said Dr Ramaloo.
It’s become an established resource for GPs across the region, with one practitioner saying, “I really learnt a lot and I've been working in this space for six years now! It should be mandatory listening for everyone working with this community.”
“The podcast has been a really valuable resource for building my knowledge and confidence around certain topics. I found the episode on eating disorders particularly informative and helpful in understanding eating disorders and the support available, and it gave me greater confidence when making my first referral,” said another listening GP.
This year, GPs in a Pod featured a range of guests, with gynaeoncology, eating disorders and homelessness health among the most popular topics.
GPs in a Pod episodes are released fortnightly Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and the PHN’s website.
