Mental health support in residential aged care homes
February 29, 2024
People in residential aged care homes (RACHs) in our region who may need help with their mental health or wellbeing can access a program delivered by Lives Lived Well that is run within the residential aged care home.
The RACH Group Program is free and includes six group sessions with the option for individual therapy by experienced and qualified facilitators. No referral is needed.
The Lives Lived Well RACH Group Program encourages residents to:
- Create connections
- Gain an understanding of mental health
- Identify unhelpful thinking patterns
- Develop coping skills that enhance wellbeing
- Build confidence
- Set goals for the future.
The service, which has been made possible through funding from Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN, reflects the PHN’s commitment to ensuring that we support older people in our region live well up to and including the end of life.
Lives Lived Well will be visiting facilities in: Allora, Boonah, Brassall, Cherbourg, Chinchilla, Clifton, Crows Nest, Dalby, Gatton, Goondiwindi, Highfields, Inglewood, Ipswich, Jandowae, Killarney, Kingaroy, Laidley, Lowood, Miles, Millmerran, Murgon, Nanango, Oakey, Pittsworth, Rosewood, Stanthorpe, Tara, Taroom, Texas, Toogoolawah, Toowoomba, Warwick and Wondai.
