PHN attends Riverview Child Health Expo

May 30, 2025

In May, the PHN’s Early Years team attended the Riverview Child Health Expo at the Riverview and District Community Centre.

The day was filled with health tips, interactive workshops, children’s activities, and more to support parents with their parenting journey.

Child health nurses also provided well baby checks to provide advice and assess development in weight, height, body mass index (BMI), and length, breathing and developmental reflexes, vision and hearing.

The PHN were joined by key partners in early years care, with stalls hosted by Kambu Health, Jaghu Maternal and Infant Program, True Relationships and Reproductive Health, Ipswich Medicare Mental Health Centre, Paediatric Sepsis Queensland Program Program, and more.

Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN works in alignment with our cross-system partners to deliver and coordinate programs that make a difference in the first years of life.

“We really enjoyed this opportunity to connect with young parents in our community and the health professionals that provide essential care in the first 2000 days.

It’s important that we establish these connections and work closely with health services to ensure that families can access care at the right time, giving their children the best start in life,” said Director – Priority Populations, Amy Wilson.
