| Low intensity services are evidence-based psychological services, which target people with or at risk of mild mental illness. Referral is open and can include self-referral or via other services such as GPs. Primarily the focus is on social support services or lifestyle interventions. As the Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Hub establishes, the Low Intensity Program will be provided through linkage to the peer-led phone service ListenWell. ListenWell is a non-urgent, peer-led phone service which connects participants with a trained peer worker who understands the importance of listening without judgement. The program offers participants: • A safe space to share their story • Empathy and understanding from someone with lived experience • Strategies for coping and navigating challenges. |
