An end of year message

As 2025 comes to a close, I am proud to reflect on a year of progress towards our vision of excellent, connected healthcare for the Darling Downs and West Moreton region.

I’d like to extend my gratitude for your partnership and support this year, and share some of the highlights from 2025.

Meeting with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Hon. Milton Dick MP at the Goodna Medicare Urgent Care Clinic was a valuable opportunity to share the impact of these clinics, and highlight the great work being done to create a healthier Darling Downs and West Moreton region.

Our events reached record attendance, with more than 650 health professionals attending our Meet and Greets, GP Symposia, and Red Ant Round-up. We have also been working closely with practices to enable the successful navigation of primary care reform initiatives.

In November, we launched Stronger for Life - Joint Regional Older Persons Strategy alongside our Regional Health Collaborative partners. We also launched our PHN's Early Years and Young Persons Health Strategy, which guides our partnership-based approach to creating healthy foundations for young people and their families.

We celebrated national recognition at the Communications & Public Relations Australia Golden Target Awards, where our podcast GPs in a Pod won gold for Health Campaign – Healthcare Professionals, and our engagement campaign TALK ABOUT was shortlisted for Health Campaign – Community. This recognition reflects our commitment to connecting health providers with insights that enhance patient care.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff, the wisdom of our Community Advisory Committees, Clinical Council and Board of Directors, and the steadfast support of our partners across government, health services, and community organisations.
